ROUTE DESCRIPTION

The Start/Finish area is located 1.3km from the Sign on which is located in Scoil Chroí Íosa Junior Building, 40 The Groves, Blarney. The Races will be held on a new Circuit this year which includes segments of the older circuit. The aim is for more aggressive racing with
more climbing and a number of short sharp kicks over the duration of all the races.kieran
All Races will Start on the Waterloo Road heading in the direction of the Bweeng. At the Waterloo Inn Junction, the Races will follow the road to the left before they begin a series of short sharp kicks that bring them to Garrycloyne. From here the Race will begin a 2.2km drag to Brownes Bar. Once past Brownes the Races will keep on the Waterloo Road as they head for Bweeng, as the Race comes to Bweeng, they will negotiate a slight descent into an S bend before they begin the 3km climb into Bweeng, which has been a launch pad on previous
editions of the Race. As the Race Comes to the Junction of Bweeng and the R619 it will swing left heading for Donoughmore here the Road kicks up once more for 600m before the race will take on a series of descents and kicks over the next 5km with some technical and fast corners, including the S bend that will bring them on to the Shournough Road. From here the race will pass the 909 Bar heading in the direction of Blarney. It is here where the Route
will change from previous editions. Instead of heading to the bottom of the Shournough Road and heading for Blarney, the Races will now turn left at Foxs Bridge onto a narrower road with a short sharp kick for 200m leading the race into Courtbrack village, and see the race continue up a 3km drag to the Waterloo Road, which will bring the races back onto the circuit.
The A4 Race will complete 2 laps of the circuit, the Ladies National League Race will complete 2 Laps of the Circuit, the A3/Junior Race will complete 3 laps of the Circuit and the A1/A2 will complete 5 Laps of the circuit. On the Races approach from Courtbrack to the Waterloo Junction on their last lap of the Circuit the Races will turn Right this time and head towards Blarney, which will see a fast descent from Brownes Bar to Garrycloyne before we have a short kick just after All Saints Graveyard, which could be a crucial launch pad for a rider looking to escape as they approach the final 5Km of Racing. The race will have one final fast descent into a sharp left hand turn as the race heads to the Waterloo Junction which will see the Race head back towards Blarney. As the Race enters the last few 2.5Kms of flat road before a final kick at Pond House 150m before the finish.
