Congratulations to Denis Forrest on taking his first race since coming out of retirement. Last weekend the Great Aggie as many like to call him won the Currow (46th John Drumm Cup) A3 race. After some fine performances this season, including the bunch sprint in the Donal Crowley Memorial Combined (9th overall and 1st A3), all looks good for the upcoming vets championship.
The Blarney team on the day – Michael O’Mahony, Robert Forrest, Dave O’Mahony, Brian O’Connell and Fergal Tubridy controlled the race well and kept the bunch together to ensure Aggie would have a good go in the sprint. The lead out went to plan and Aggie held off Noel Holmes (2nd) to win. Michael O’Mahony and Robert Forrest were 7th and 8th.
Congratulation to Eddie Barry who was forth in 46th John Drumm Cup in Curlow, after a great win last week in Blarney.
